Define How AI Gets Deployed in the Real World

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Capably, you’ll sit at the point where product, engineering, and customer reality meet. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their workflows, map ambiguous business problems into deployable systems, and help bring Capably’s AI automation platform into production in high-impact enterprise environments.

This is not a traditional implementation role. You’ll combine technical depth, product judgment, and operational pragmatism to solve hard problems quickly. One week you may be scoping a new enterprise workflow, the next you may be designing a solution architecture, unblocking a deployment, or working with the product team to generalise what you’ve learned into the core platform. Capably’s growth is already constrained by deployment capacity, so this role is central to how fast and how well the company scales.

Deploy and Scale Customer AI Capabilities

We believe enterprise AI is won in deployment, not in demos. You’ll lead from the front with customers—translating business context into working systems, navigating ambiguity, and driving implementations that deliver measurable results on real workflows.

You’ll work across onboarding, solution design, configuration, testing, rollout, and iteration. You’ll partner closely with engineering, product, and solutions teams to identify what should be custom, what should be standardised, and what should become a product capability. Your job is not just to get deployments live, but to increase the complexity of tasks Capably can support with less bespoke intervention over time.

  • Work directly with customers to understand business processes, requirements, and operational constraints

  • Translate ambiguous workflow problems into technical solutions that can be deployed quickly and reliably

  • Lead implementation across onboarding, scoping, testing, rollout, and iteration

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to close gaps, unblock deployments, and improve platform capabilities

  • Identify recurring patterns across customer work and help turn them into reusable product building blocks

  • Drive projects with urgency and ownership, balancing customer impact with long-term scalability

Your work will help Capably expand deployment capacity, improve customer onboarding, and make the platform stronger with every implementation. You’ll play a key role in increasing how much complex work Capably’s engine can handle in production without heavy manual involvement.

Success in this role means being able to operate in the messy middle. You’ll need to move fluidly between customer conversations, technical problem-solving, internal coordination, and execution under time pressure. The best Forward Deployed Engineers are relentless, structured, highly credible with customers, and willing to do whatever is required to get a system working in the real world.

By staying close to customers and close to the product, you’ll help Capably build a tighter feedback loop between deployment and platform evolution. Your ability to scope well upfront, reduce false starts, and generalise what works will be essential to how we scale solutions engineering as a company.

What You Bring:
  1. Strong software engineering or technical implementation experience in customer-facing environments

  2. Ability to take ambiguous business problems and turn them into structured, executable technical plans

  3. Comfort working directly with enterprise customers and building trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  4. Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action in fast-moving, high-ownership environments

  5. Ability to work across product, engineering, and operations to drive deployments through to production

  6. Strong communication, prioritisation, and project leadership skills

  7. Experience with AI systems, workflow automation, solutions engineering, or enterprise software is a strong plus
